Construction began in 1835. We purchased it in 2014 after the third-generation, Elmer Young, had passed away. The McFauls who purchased the farm decided to hive off this imposing limestone homestead and an acre of Canadian Shield with a bit of topsoil. An eight-summer labour, we call it The Stone. As a teenager I used to drive by while roaming the County as Picton correspondent for the Whig-Standard. It seemed huge, but with the two wood buildings torn off before we arrived, it's actually quite cozy. Such a privilege to be part of this piece of Prince Edward County legacy!
